Friends of School
The Ridge Friends of School Association
The Ridge is very fortunate in having a thriving and very supportive Friends of School Association, which organises a wide range of social, and fundraising events throughout the year.
The Friends of Ridge School (FOS) is the parent teacher Association of the Ridge Junior School and when children join the school their parents/carers automatically become members. The FOS is a group of parents who, with the help of teachers and staff, organise a wide range of social, and fundraising events throughout the year.
The FOS are not only able to raise money for different projects but bring together the children, parents and staff working as a team to support the school and provide a great experience for all.
Last year was a challenging year but FOS managed to organise some events for the children and raise funds despite the situation. A lot of the usual events such as discos, craft workshops and games night were unable to take place due to covid. However meetings continued virtually and the FOS team were able to organise an elf trail at Christmas, a virtual pet show and the penny trail which were all thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Having the amphitheatre built lifted everyone's spirit and the ice cream van was a very welcome addition at the end of the year.
